Life Choices


As we journey through the daily ups and downs, we will always be confronted with choices in life. Many of these choices are easy to make but once in a while, we may be stumped by the more difficult ones. And these are the ones that may alter our life paths and how we react from then on would have a bearing on how we will lead our lives.

In my previous post about my ex-boss and his mistress, his wife has made the decision to stay. For many, this is stupid and unthinkable but for many Asian women, especially of the older generation, they do have a very traditional view of marriage. And many women do choose to remain with a cheating husband because of the kids, financial reasons or that they have their own personal insecurities to wrangle with.
What I find amazing about my ex-boss’ wife is her attitude. She was faced with a difficult problem, she chose to stay and she tried to make the best out of the situation. You may say that the union is a sham but at least, she did not react with bitterness and wallow in self-pity in response to her decision to remain in the marriage.

Comparatively, I know of another couple in the same situation and 20 years on, the wife has remained bitter and has poisoned the mind of her kids against the father and the other woman. Same scenario, same decision but different attitude resulting in a different outcome.
Life will always be full of “what ifs”. So, I guess when it comes to those difficult life choices, sometimes, the right or wrong and yes or no may not be as important as our attitude and reaction following that decision that we take. After all, you and I would most probably make the decision to walk out on a cheating spouse but it does not mean that we wouldn’t have the prospects of bitterness, anger and depression weighing on our shoulders, isn’t it, compared to someone who has decided to stay?
I don’t see how it WOULDN’T matter. of course that would be a deal breaker. i have only been in strip clubs during bachelor parties but most waitresses there wear next to nothing….that in and of itself would be too much. You women that are saying it isn’t a big deal are really missing this one.
The waitresses wear next to nothing because that’s the nature of the establishment. They may not facilitate actual intercourse, but strip clubs are still selling sex. It’s a lot easier to do that while wearing deliberately skimpy/revealing clothing, so they do. It doesn’t necessarily mean the women working there are promiscuous, damaged or any other such slut-shaming bullshit; it means they understand their profession.
